“Hot” New TRUE iPhone 3G Offer
What: Seems to me TRUE’s original iPhone 3G “promotion” didn’t sell too well. Or why would TRUE update the iPhone 3G packages with the “Hot!” packages when the handsets are just launched?
See the new package structure here. Basically you can pay with any VISA or MasterCard now – and not only with Kasikorn and Bangkok Bank cards – and they offer upfront prices for handsets only: 24,500 baht for a 8GB, 28,500 baht for a 16GB. Plus 7% VAT. And packages are down from two-year to one-year contracts.
Well … that’s still more for a handset than what you pay for gray imports … Ok, you get a one-year warranty. And here’s the beauty of the deal: You get a fully unlocked iPhone. And 599 baht/month for 300 minutes of talk, 300 SMS and unlimited EDGE/WiFi isn’t too unattractive.
When: Offer lasts until March 31st, 2009. And you have to be a TRUE customer.
Yours the understudy.

Free Food To Promote Ecotourism
What: Near Ranong provincial town, villagers pitch in to create an amazing eating festival to entice visitors to explore nearby ecotourism trails. From the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s website: “To draw attention to their forest tours they created an eating festival. It promises a scrumptious display of snacks and heavy-duty dining delivered to the village stalls by no less than 35 villages that make up the La Un district. No duplications are allowed. Villages have drawn on southern culinary skills to showcase a wealth of down-to-earth cooking skills delivering a selection of spicy main dishes to eat with rice and an array of sweet deserts and snacks.”
When & Where: January 27th & 28th, 2009, at Ranong. A beautiful drive actually once you’ve passed Petchaburi!
